Thanks for this article! Is this intended to replace pick lists, or just an alternative to them?

Hi Amanda! This is not intended to replace Picklists, but rather a way to add items to Calculations that may not be available. Editable articles will add a custom line item without the need of placing the Picklist. Hope that helps!

Is it possible to link an editable article to a 3D object(s) brought in via a CAD drawing? To supplement manufacturers who have downloads on their website, but are not in CET yet.

Was anyone able to answer this question above? I am wondering the same thing. Thank you!

    Sorry Cscarboro,
But we do not have that feature in CET.
The closest we have in doing what you are suggesting is by adding using Specials or Picklists
Query Dialog & Making Specials – Configura Help Center
Catalogue Browser: Extra – Configura Help Center

Thank you very much for the explanation.

My list of editable articles is saved as a *.art file. Is there a way how I would be able to add a bunch of articles (e.g. 50 articles) to it other than by typing them one by one? E.g. edit the file in a spreadsheet? Thank you.

Would this be good for COM (customers own material) that needs to be purchased separately for a chair in your drawing/project?

    Hi David,

Unfortunately, no. The *.art file can only be read inside CET :(

    Sincerely,

    Saufi

    Hi Tammy,

Absolutely! That is another wonderful use case scenario for this Editable Article :)

    Sincerely,

    Saufi

    Hello Tammy, Saufi,

Yes, this would be very helpful. It would be an easy way, not requiring programming, to choose articles from a given set, that are not modeled in the drawing.

We have decided in the meantime however, to start using a picklist. It has to be programmed , unfortunately.
