To add discounts in the Calculation, just double click in a cell to edit the contents. You can apply a discount to a group or to an individual line item.
The columns that can be used for discounting are:
Buy: Cost to dealership (also known as Dealer Net)
Buy %: Percent off List, sometimes called Dealer Discount
(Note: formulas can also be used here, for example 50/10/5 instead of 57.25%)
Ext. Buy: Buy multiplied by quantity
List: Published List Price (price found in published Price Book)
Ext. List: List multiplied by quantity
Margin %: Gross Profit percent - percentage between sell and buy
(example: if Buy is $100 and Margin is 25%, then Sell is $133.33)
Markup %: Percent added to Buy over cost/purchase
(example: if Buy is $100 and Markup is 25%, then Sell is $125.00)
Profit: Difference between Sell and Buy amounts
Ext. Profit: Profit multiplied by quantity
Sell: Price to client
Sell %: Percentage between Sell and List
Ext. Sell: Sell multiplied by quantity
Discounting can be applied to individual lines, or at the group level, e.g. by Manufacturer, Catalog, Category, etc.
Discounting by Manufacturer at the group level
Discounting by Catalog at the group level
Dealer Discount % (Buy)
Double click into any blue cell to edit the contents. You can enter a specific number, or you can type a complex discount (e.g."50/10/10"), which will automatically calculate the percentage:
After you enter the Buy% you can either enter a Markup%, Margin%, or Sell% to get a Sell price at any level: Manufacturer, Catalog, Category, or even at the part level.
If you enter more than one discount to achieve the Sell amount (Markup%, Margin%, or Sell%) the last number entered will be used. You should only use one method to calculate Sell to avoid confusion.
You can also enter the discount on an individual line or type in the Sell amount.
