The first time Photo Lab is opened, it is shown in Simple mode. This means that there are some Photograph Setup presets to the left, and some Post Processing presets to the right. The idea is that you should be able to create a nice, high-quality rendering simply by selecting a preset. The presets are a real time saver!
Overall rendering results will vary based on the combination of all settings used but general examples are provided below. Enclosed spaces include a floor and the fluorescent ceiling with default settings as well as walls that completely enclose the space.
The presets available are determined by which Extensions are installed. You will always have access to these presets:
Product lighting
Generates an image using Natural light and a white emissive background. This is ideal for open spaces since the white background is giving off light from all directions.
Open environment
Enclosed space
Realistic
Generates a rendering with a realistic sun and a blue sky that spreads light in a realistic way making it best suited for enclosed spaces rather than open environments.

Contour image
Provides a contour image with black outlines and no color fill.
Normal
Generates a rendered image with good quality but does not have as realistic lights and materials as other presets. It is much quicker than Product Lighting or Realistic.
Open environment
Enclosed space
When other extensions are installed, you may also see Office lighting, or Fast Kitchen, Dark kitchen, and Light kitchen which are specifically suited for such environments.
Most Photograph Setup presets allow you to make some very basic adjustments without having to go into Advanced mode:
