Once you have organized the Article View, arranging the parts as needed, you can use the View Parts in Spec button rather than exporting the Article View to Spec.
The View Parts in Spec button is located between the Menu bar Toggle Tools and Calculations, in the top right of your CET window.
The PMX file (proprietary to Spec) is generated from the active Article View in Calculations. If there is more than one Article View for the project, select the Article View prior to clicking the View Parts in Spec button.
Once exported, the PMX will open in Spec with the User's last saved or Favorite view. The parts will be listed in the same order as they appear in the Article View, with selected options, tagging categories listed, and any applied discounts.
Once in Spec, save the file using Save As to adopt the file name.
Project Information
Project information can be transferred from CET into Spec using the Project Information dialog found in the Tools menu. The information will be transferred to the fields as indicated in the images below when the View Part in Spec button or the PMX export are used to export the project. This information will not be exported using the SIF formats.
The fields will transfer as follows.
The Revision Number field will show "CET" indicated that the information came from CET.
While some fields sync across multiple Project Information tools, some data from manufacturer specific Project Information tool may not transfer.
