It’s now time to link your models to your data. This will be done in the Geometry tab in Catalogue Creator. This is where you link everything in your catalogue together; products, models, layers, features, and materials. You can also preview your 2D and 3D models and link connectors to the products.

To start with, follow these steps to link symbols (models) to your products:

• Go to the Geometry tab.
• In the Product List window, choose a product to work with from the drop-down menu.
• Click on Models Reference tabs.
• In the list of models, click on one (or more) of the model and drag n’ drop it onto the product in the Product View window at the bottom. A model can also be linked to an option to create a graphical option. (more about this in the next step).

Once you have completed this step, you will see a 2D and a 3D preview of your product to the right. You can use your mouse to pan, zoom and even rotate the 3D model in the preview.

External Ref

After linking of model(s) is done, an External Reference will be added to the Product. Double click to edit the placement and use of the model.

Change Usage Type if different models are used for 2D and 3D.
