This spreadsheet is used in the editing of products. Note that additional product editing functionality is provided by the Geometry tab. General information on working with spreadsheets can be found in the Spreadsheets section, and information on products may be found on the Products page.
The following sections describe columns available to the spreadsheet.
- Filter: Right-click on the header of each column to see the filter dialog. Simply type in any keyword and start refining the search result and using OR filter (Match any) or AND filter (Match all). The filter status is shown at the top of the spreadsheet.
-
Code: Every product requires a unique identifier. This is the code by which the product is referenced throughout the project and is also referred used as a part number. New products can be created by entering a code into an empty cell. And likewise, deleting a code from this column will remove that product from the catalogue.
In order to maintain the uniqueness of the product codes, any time the user enters a code that is not unique, the creator will add characters to make the code unique before submitting the change to the project. Any leading/trailing spaces will be highlighted in yellow to prevent unwanted space. - Description: These columns allow for human-readable descriptions of the product. Note that there will be a Description column for every language that is enabled in the project (languages may be enabled and disabled from the Project card). This is the text that will be used to describe the product when placed in a drawing.
- Vendor: If a project has vendors enabled, the spreadsheet will have a vendors column available. This column is used to set the vendor the product is assigned to. Clicking the button on the right side of the cell will display a drop-down with a list of vendors currently on the project. Selecting a vendor from the list will assign the product to it.
- Price: These columns are used to set the base price for the product on a specific price list. Note that there will be a column for every base price list in the project. Setting a price under the column will set the product’s price on that price list.
- Package Count: This column quantifies the unit of a product. If the package count is set to four; ordering four similar products will set the product quantity to one.
- Omit on Order: This column allows setting or resetting of the omit-on-order flag on the product. The flag is toggled by clicking on the checkbox in the cell.
- Individual Tag: This column optionally sets an individual tag for the product. When the current view in CET is set to display tags for products, and a value is set for an individual tag, it will override the default tag for the product. If no individual tag is set for a product, the tag will default to the product’s code. Right-click on a cell to append copied content to existing cell content.
- Individual Tag Category: This column is used to set a category of the individual tag. Clicking the button on the right side of the cell will display a list of categories currently available. This list comes from categories created for the project (see the Categories section), categories from CET, and extensions that are currently active. Multiple categories may be set for the product by selecting the checkboxes next to the desired categories. Once a category is selected for the individual tag, the tag can be shown/hide in the TAGS view mode using the Tools -> Filter dialog.
- Dimensions: The Area, Depth, Height, Length, Volume, Weight, and Width columns are used to set their respective dimensions on the product. If a dimension is being set for the first time, the units will be those set on the Project card. If editing an existing value, the units will remain as they were for the previous value.
- Models: This column is for reference only. It lists the symbols applied directly to the product. This cell cannot be edited directly, however, values may be copied between these cells. You can, however, replace a symbol in this column by dragging and dropping from your defined symbol directory’s window explorer. Right-click on the cell to append the copied model to the existing model(s).
- Material Applications: This column is for reference only. It lists the Material Applications applied directly to the product. This cell cannot be edited directly, however, values may be copied between these cells. Right-click on the cell to append copied content to existing cell content.
- Connectors: This column lists the Connectors applied to the product and the cell can be edited by clicking to expand the drop-down menu. Right-click on the cell to append copied connector to existing cell content.
- Leadtime Program: This column is used to set a leadtime program for the product. Clicking the button on the right side of the cell will display a drop-down with a list of leadtime programs currently on the project. Selecting a program will assign it to the product.
- Categories: This column is used to set categories for the product. Clicking the button on the right side of the cell will display a list of categories currently available. This list comes from categories created for the project (see the Categories section), categories from CET, and extensions that are currently active. Multiple categories may be set for the product by selecting the checkboxes next to the desired categories. Right-click on the cell to append copied categories to existing cell content.
- Features: This column is used to assign features to the product. Clicking the button on the right side of the cell will display a list of features available to the product. Note that if vendors are enabled on the current project, this list will be filtered to only show features on the same vendor as the product. This list may be filtered by entering text into the text field at the top of the popup. Features may be added and removed by clicking their items on this list. Note that features may be reorganized on the product, by clicking and dragging the features to new positions in the list. Right-click on the cell to append copied feature(s) to existing cell content.
