It is simple to align components in the drawing area using different aligning features. Alignment options are found in the Object menu and Tools menu.
Basic options are directly in the Object drop-down menu:
while additional options are accessed from the Tools menu by opening the Align and distribute dialog.
To access this dialog and align components, follow the steps below:
- Select the components you wish to align.
- Go to the Tools menu and select the Align and distribute option. The Align/distribute dialog opens:
- Choose one of the options in the first row. The components will be aligned accordingly.
Components can be aligned in six different ways:
Align left
Aligning components left means that the left edge of all selected components will be in line.
Align vertical
Aligning components vertically means that the vertical center of all selected components will be in line.
Align right
Aligning components right means that the right edge of all selected components will be in line.
Align up
Aligning components up means that the top edge of all selected components will be in line.
Align horizontal
Aligning components horizontally means that the horizontal center of all selected components will be in line.
Align down
Aligning components down means that the bottom edge of all selected components will be in line.
The next three tools in the Align section are for items arranged in a horizontal line in the 3D View. A tip here is to use the Orthographic View in 3D drawing view.
Align top (Elevation)
Aligning components top (Elevation) means that the top edge of all selected components will be in line.
Align heightwise (Elevation)
Aligning components height-wise (Elevation) means that the middle height of all selected components will be in line.
Align bottom (Elevation)
Aligning bottom (Elevation) means that the bottom edge of all selected components will be in line.

Does the align tool work on CET native walls? I need to align walls with each other and the align tool doesn't seem to be functioning with the walls objects...
Hi,
Yes, it does work. Please ensure you are in the Walls component tabs or turn off the option "Move walls only when Wall Drawing tab is selected" in the Walls component tab.
