When designing in CET, switching between Perspective and Orthographic camera views changes how you experience and work with your layout. This feature is only present in the 3D view:
Perspective view
This option is selected by default. The Perspective View mimics how we see the world with our eyes. Objects appear smaller as they get farther away, creating a realistic sense of depth and distance. This camera view is best for:
Presentations and walkthroughs
Visualizing spatial relationships
Realistic previews for clients
Orthographic view
The Orthographic View removes distortion from perspective. Click on the Camera View button in the upper right corner of the 3D view to adjust the view. When Orthographic is selected, all objects appear the same size, regardless of distance. This is often called a "flat" view and is commonly used in architectural drafting. Benefits of Orthographic View are:
Precise space planning and alignment
Reviewing layouts from top, front, side, or elevation views
Working with tight spaces or grid-based placements
No depth distortion
All lines stay parallel
Changing Standard View in the Orthographic Camera View
While Orthographic View is selected, you may select from several Standard views:
Top
Front
Back
Left
Right
Right Click Camera View Options
Right clicking in the 3D drawing view will open a menu. You may change your camera view from here. If you are in Orthographic view, you may click "Change to perspective view", and in Perspective view you may click "Change to orthogonal view".
