The Elevation and Perspective tools allow you to navigate in a unique way.
Right-click in the 3D view to access a context menu with these tools:
Elevation
Adjusting the elevation means that you are adjusting the height of the "camera".
To use the elevation feature, follow these steps:
- In the 3D view, right-click and select Elevation from the context menu. The cursor now shows the elevation icon:
- Press and hold the left mouse button while moving the mouse forward or backward to adjust the height.
- When you are done, release the mouse button.
Hold down Ctrl and while holding down the scroll wheel or middle mouse button to achieve the same effect.
Perspective
Adjusting the perspective will affect what is included/excluded from the view. Think of a fish-eye lens on a camera that includes more in the view, but can distort the surroundings in order to do so. Expanding the perspective will give the appearance of there being more space around your objects. Contracting the space will bring objects "closer together."
To use this feature, follow these steps:
- In the 3D view, right-click and select Perspective from the context menu. The cursor now shows the perspective icon:
- Press and hold the left mouse button while moving the mouse forward or backward to move the perspective in or out.
- When you are done, release the mouse button.
To return to a regular view, repeat step 1, then press the Space bar.
