Properties of a component can be changed while placing it, or after it is placed in the drawing area.
To change the properties of an object that is already placed in your drawing, select it, and then a green Quick Properties box with various available options appears:
Depending on the property, you enter the information directly into the active fields. In others, you only need to select a predefined value
The following applies to various Quick Properties boxes in CET:
- Enter values using the keyboard.
- Move between different levels (Width, Height, etc.) using the Tab key. To step up a level, press Shift + Tab.
- Move between the different values on the same level with predefined options by pressing the Spacebar. To return to a previous value on the same level, press Shift + Spacebar.
- Select/deselect a checkbox by pressing the Spacebar or by single-clicking on the box.
Moving the Quick Properties box
You can click and drag the faint grey line on the top of the properties box to move it anywhere on your screen.
Initiating Dock mode
If you moved the Quick Properties box to an area around the selected Component, it will be docked to the Component, initiating the dock mode.
When the Quick Properties box is in dock mode, it will follow the Component around when the camera is moved. The box will always attempt to land around the selection, not visually blocking the Component.
The box will remain docked after selections of Components are changed.
If you do not want the Quick Properties box trying to dock while moving around the selected Component, simply hold Shift while moving.
Also, when the Quick Properties box is in dock mode, and attempting to insert a Component, the Quick Properties box will show at the closest top edge of your view:
Recall to Default Location
You will notice after a Quick Properties box is moved from its default location(top left of the view), there is a new button showing at the default location:
This is the Recall button, clicking on it returns the Quick Properties box to the default location.
Hiding the Quick Properties box
Notice that there is an eye icon at the top right of the Quick Properties box.
Clicking on the eye icon will minimize the Quick Properties box into just an eye icon, clicking the eye icon again will show the Quick Properties box.
