When you have imported an image or a PDF from the Tools component tab, you may need to double-check or set the dimensions and the scale. For this purpose, use the Measure and scale tool. This tool is found in two places - in the Image and Text section of the Tools component tab, or in the properties box that appears when an Image loaded from file is selected in the drawing view.
- Click the Measure and scale icon from the Tools component tab or the quick properties box:
- Move the cursor over the image. A dimension component is attached to the mouse pointer.
- Click once to set a starting point, then move the cursor and click to set an end point. The dimension is displayed and the Input actual length input field opens.
If adjusting the scale, the distance between the two points selected should be a distance you know in real life. A good reference would be a door frame that is 36". The two clicks can be at either end of the door, then in Step 4, you can type 36". - If necessary, adjust the actual length according to your specifications. CET will then scale the image correctly.
To release the measure and scale component, press the Esc key.If Activate 2D is checked in the quick properties box, the Measure and Scale tool will snap to lines found in the image.
