To create a great Library, you need good quality models. We currently only support the DWG format for models.
The purpose of the 2D/3D models is to assist designers or engineers in visualization and execution concerning configurations of a specific product and how to combine different products to form a complete design or layout. It is important to understand that the models created are not meant to be used as engineering drawings. This means that every little detail in a specific product should not be reflected in the models. For instance, small bolts, screws and nuts of a chair are not needed to represent the chair. Invisible parts are also not needed, if these details are not removed the models will be too large and slow down the user’s experience.
You will most likely need to do a little work on your models to convert them into the desired file format for Libraries – and to create different LOD (levels of detail). To do this, you will work in AutoCAD, or another program that can produce DWG files.
Examples of models:
3D Model
This model has been divided into layers with all internal parts removed.
2D Model
There are too many 2D views on this model. We only need what is in the blue square.
