Floor Storage
The Floor Storage tool gives you the option to add floor storage, which is a warehouse storage method where goods are placed directly on the floor, either stacked or in designated zones, without using racking or shelving systems. It is commonly used for bulk storage, palletized goods, and fast-moving inventory.
Properties can be adjusted while placing floor storage. The Unit Load may be selected from the first drop down. Cell width and height will automatically be determined based on the unit load size, however you may adjust them. Clearance is the space between the cells, and those properties may also be adjusted. Border is the space around the entire floor storage area, and that width may be adjusted using the quick properties.
After placement, several more properties will become available within the quick properties box:
The Front option allows you to select which side of your floor storage area will be designated as the front. When a side is selected you will also see the name and number displayed in the 2D view along with the number of unit loads in that particular row or column.
Number of Levels allows you to adjust how many unit loads will be stacked vertically in each position on the grid.
Stretch nodes may be used to adjust the number of columns and rows, or you may enter the desired value in the quick properties.
Floor Markings will place tape on the floor to designate the floor storage area. When this option is selected two more options will become available. These options will allow you to adjust the width and material of the markings.
This function works well in conjunction with the Unloaded view mode to be able to see where the floor storage will be, without seeing the unit loads.
The Row Name option allows you to rename your rows or columns. Click the ellipse next to Row Name, then type in the name you would like.
The Edit Grid button will allow you to Insert or Remove unit load cells from your floor storage area. You may select individual cells, or you can click and drag to form a rectangle which will add or remove cells from that entire area.
