The bottom half of the program window is the 3D view of the drawing area. Use the toolbar across the top to perform different actions such as zooming, navigating, rendering, and more.
It can sometimes be an advantage to use one view at a time as this gives you more space to design. You can choose to view the whole drawing area in 3D by clicking the Switch to single 3D view icon in the top right corner of the 3D View. You can also choose to open a separate 3D view.
To open the Paper View, click on the icon Switch to paper view.

The Navigation bar enables you to maneuver in the 3D view and is especially useful should you use a touch pad instead of a mouse (although this is not recommended). The Navigation bar is disabled by default but can be enabled from the Views tab in the Control Panel.
