The Render Accelerator Extension enhances CET’s rendering capabilities by connecting your computer to a network of rendering resources. This allows for faster and more efficient rendering, using both your local machine and networked resources.
Starting and Stopping the Render Accelerator
-
Start Render Accelerator: Restarts server searching and restores network rendering functionality.
-
Stop Render Accelerator: Stops the search for servers, hides any found servers, and disconnects from them. All renderings are then performed locally.
Status
The Render Accelerator’s status is displayed as a button with a colored indicator dot. The indicator reflects the current connection status:
The Render Accelerator is not connected to any servers. All rendering will be done locally.
The Render Accelerator is on and actively looking for available rendering servers.
The Render Accelerator has successfully found and connected to one or more rendering servers. Network rendering is available.
Resource Details and Settings
The Resource Details and Settings buttons provide access to advanced management tools.
Resource Details: View and manage render resources.
-
Settings: Configure your IP/interface and fallback rendering options.
Download Render Server Installer
At the bottom of the Extension tab, there is a link to a Help Article that provides instructions and the download link for the Render Server installer. Installing the Render Server allows your computer to act as a rendering resource within the network.

Seems the RA requires the base program in order to make use of other machines. Why is RA not a stand alone app? Or am I missing something.
Hello Timothy!
You can install Render Server as a standalone app on other computers and if it (the server) is configured to listen on the proper IP address (it must be listening on the same subnet as the rendering machines/clients) then it will help with photo/video renderings running on CET Designer installations that have the Render Accelerator extension running. If the Server is configured properly it should be detected and appear in the list under Resource Details.
No full installation of CET Designer is required on computers only running the Render Server Controller interface. If you need any more assistance you can reach out to the Support Team and we can investigate.
**If you contact us via email please be sure to include the Logs as attachments. There is a button in the lower right corner of the Render Server Controller window that will open the Logs folder.**
