When CET is opened, a new drawing is created automatically.
If you know that you want to work with more than one drawing, for example on two monitors, go to the General Tab in the Control Panel and turn the Enable multiple drawings option on, which allows up to five drawings to be opened simultaneously.
To create a new drawing, follow the steps below.
With 'Enable multiple drawings' turned off
- Go to the File menu and select New.
- If you already have a drawing opened, CET will ask you if you would like to save the changes in the current drawing.
- Click Yes, No or Cancel.
- The recommended next step is to name and save your drawing right away by going to the File menu and selecting Save As. You are now ready to start drawing.

Besides selecting New from the menu, you can also open a new drawing by clicking the New Drawing () button on the toolbar or using the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+N.
To toggle between different drawings, use Alt + Tab. or select the drawing you need from the Drawings menu.
Under the Drawings menu (only visible in the tool bar if the Enable multiple drawings option is active in the Control Panel), you can choose to share one window for all drawings or separate windows for each drawing.
CET supports the use of dual monitors, which could make it easier to work with multiple drawings.
