The Style Editor in the Tools Component Tab creates new styles and modify existing styles for Text, Lines, Dimensions, Areas, and Hatching. This provides consistency between users sharing a drawing and for differentiation between types of markings and text. For example, a different style might be used for electrical dimensions versus other dimension types. Existing default styles can be edited, and new styles can be created. 

Open the Style Editor to a specific tab by clicking one of these blue icons on the Tools component tab:

You can also access the Style Editor when working in the Paper View, as shown below.

The Style Editor window is divided into different tabs, one for each group that the styles apply to:

Text

Create and change styles for different text groups. You can alter the Font, Font Height, Italic state, Bold state and Font Color for Ind. Tag Texts, Calculate Area Texts, Dimension Texts, Incrementer Texts, Paper View Texts, Revision Paper Texts, Revision Texts, Tagging Rectangle Texts and Text Fields.

Lines

Create and change styles for line groups.  You can alter the Line style, Width style, Width and Color for Calculate Area Lines, Symbol Lines, Tagging Rectangle Lines, Dimension Lines, Help Lines, Revision Cloud Lines, and Text Box lines.

Dimension

Create and change styles for dimensions. You can alter the Text alignment, Distance units, Unit precision, Hide trailing zeros (for fractions), Arrow Head Size and shape, gap and end line length for the Dimensions.

Area

Create and change styles for areas defined with the Calculate Area Tool. You can alter the Area Unit, Unit precision and Filling of an area.

Hatch

Create and change styles for hatch patterns that can be applied to 2D rectangles/circles and custom shapes. You can alter the Hatch and the Scale of a pattern.

Applying Styles

You can apply a style before or after placing a component in the drawing. For example, to bring in a text with a style beside the default, use the drop-down menu next to Text in the Styles section of the Tools component tab to select the style you want to use.

Now all text brought in will show in the selected style.

The other way to select a component's style is to choose the style from the drop-down menu in the green properties box once it is placed in the drawing. This will just change the style of the selected component without affecting new or other existing components in the drawing.
