Summary
CET can be launched from the Start Menu, Desktop, or Taskbar. This article explains how to create shortcuts using the recommended method.
Creating shortcuts from the Windows Start Menu ensures they point to the correct CET launcher.
Pin CET to the Start Menu or Taskbar
To pin CET to the Start Menu or Taskbar:
- Open the Windows Start Menu.
- Navigate to All Apps > Configura CET 64-bit.
- Right-click CET 64-bit.
- Select Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar.
Once pinned, you can launch CET directly from your Start Menu or Taskbar.
Note: While CET is running,
you may see two taskbar icons. This is expected behavior and does not affect
functionality.
Create a Desktop Shortcut
A desktop shortcut is created automatically when CET is installed.
If the shortcut has been deleted or is missing:
- Open Start Menu > All Apps > Configura CET 64-bit.
- Right-click CET 64-bit.
- Select More > Open file location.
- In the File Explorer window, right-click CET 64-bit.
- Select Show more options > Create shortcut
Verify an Existing Shortcut (For Advanced Users)
If CET isn’t launching properly, take a quick look at your shortcut:
- Recommended Shortcut: It should be pointing to
CETLauncher.exe. This is the correct way to start CET because it sets up everything properly before launching. - Improper Shortcut: If it's pointing to
CETDesigner.exe, you’ve pinned the running instance. This can cause issues because it might not grab the right files or parameters.
Avoid pinning a running instance of CET, and instead, use the Start Menu, create a desktop shortcut, or make sure your pinned shortcut leads to CETLauncher.exe. That way, CET will always start smoothly!
