This article will review how to save your custom Print Templates and access them once they are created.
Saving Print Templates
Your Print Template path is automatically defaulted to save at this location:
- Documents → ProjectSpec → Print Templates
Option 1: Save As
Spec provides Users with a default Print Template. To generate a new copy of the Print Template file that contains a copy of the original default reports:
- Open the Template Editor from the Print tab by clicking the Template Editor icon
- In the Template Editor screen, Click the File menu tab
- Select Save As to open the Save dialog
- Rename the Print Template and Save in the ProjectSpec Print Templates default User folder
Option 2: Copy and Paste
If a Print Template was previously created or saved in a shared location and you wish to make edits to a copy of the Print Template, Copy and Paste the custom Print Template directly into the Print Template folder.
To Copy and Paste the Print Template, follow these steps:
- Copy the Print Template file from its original location
- Open File Explorer
- Browse to the Storage Location
- Copy and Paste the Print Template in the default Print Template folder
As a reminder, the path where you saved the Print Template and the Storage Location path in Spec must match in order to successfully print a report.
If you need to change the Storage Location, read Sharing Print Templates.
