Delete an Entire Tag
To completely remove a tag from your list of Part Tags, which deletes all areas and removes the tag from individually tagged items, follow these steps:
- Select Part tagging from the Tools menu.
- Select the tag you wish to remove from the list
- Click the Delete button on the left.
- This removes the tag from the list, any areas from the drawing space, and removes tags from individually tagged components.
To remove several tags from the Part Tagging dialog in one go, use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple tags and then click the Delete button. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to remove each tag you have selected.
Delete a Tagged Area
This only works on Components selected via Tagging rectangle and Custom Shape Tag.
When you have placed a tagging rectangle or a custom shape tag, a tagged area is created. You may run into a situation where you no longer need an area tagged, but you still want the tag to exist in your list. In this case, deleting a tagged area is very simple.
- Open Part Tagging from the Tools drop-down menu. Note that you are now in the TAGS View Mode and can therefore see all tagged areas and any individual tags of your selected tag in the list. You can also go directly in the the TAGS view mode by clicking on the name at the bottom of CET.
- Select a tagged area by the edge or by the label (i.e. the Reconfiguration: Existing text in our example) and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
OR
Use the Remover tool from your 2D toolbar and hover near the label. A red X appears in the center of your tagged area. Then click to delete.
Removing Tags from an Individual Item
This only works on Components selected via Tag Individually and Apply to selection.
To remove a tag from an individually tagged component, follow these steps:
- Select Part tagging from the Tools menu.
- Select the tag you wish to remove.
- Click the Tag individually tool.
- In the Green Properties box, select Remove. You can click the checkbox, or press the Space bar to select it.
- Click the component you wish to remove the tag from. The tag remains in the list, but now contains one component less.
Removing Tags from a Selection of Components
This only works on Components that are applied with individual tags (i.e Tag individually, Apply to selection).
