If you need to equip your editable component with a part from a different one, you can do that by using the Copy and Cut tools.
Copy
To copy a mesh to the clipboard for later pasting, use the Copy tool.
To copy and paste a mesh, follow these steps:
- Click the Make editable button and the click the component that you wish to modify. The component is now editable.
- Switch to Single mesh select mode.
- Click to select the mesh or meshes that you want to copy. You can select multiple meshes by pressing down the Ctrl key and clicking each mesh in the Mesh Dialog. Selected meshes turn yellow.
- Click the Copy button. The mesh has now been copied and pasted in the drawing view - overlapping the original symbol. Left-click and drag the mesh copy from atop the original symbol to the location you would like OR use the Move mesh tool to adjust it.
- The copied mesh is now its own object that can be copied from the right-click menu anywhere in the 2D view or the 3D view, or press 'Ctrl+C' and 'Ctrl+V' to copy and paste the mesh.
Cut
To remove a mesh from a component and paste it in another location, use the Cut tool.
To cut out a mesh, follow these steps:
- Click the Make editable button and the click the component that you wish to modify. The component is now editable.
- Switch to Single mesh select mode.
- Click to select the mesh or meshes that you want to cut. You can select multiple meshes by pressing down the Ctrl key and clicking each mesh. Selected meshes turn yellow.
- Click the Cut button. The mesh has now been cut from the other objects on the same mesh.
- Use the Move mesh tool to adjust it.
