The Revision Cloud tools are used for marking areas in a drawing that have been revised. The marked area will then appear on the printout. The Revision cloud tools are available for the regular 2D drawing view, as well as the Paper View, where it is found on the Drawing (paper) tab.
There are four Revision Cloud tools:

Lasso Revision Cloud: for circling objects or areas you want to mark. Moving the cursor will form a cloud that will form when you click to close the shape. |

Circular Revision Cloud: lets you create a round or elliptical revision cloud. |

Rectangular Revision Cloud: for drawing a rectangular revision cloud with only three clicks. |

Revision Cloud: lets you draw a custom shape with straight lines that are automatically replaced by arcs when the shape is closed. |
To draw a revision cloud, select one of the tools and follow the instructions below.
Lasso Revision Cloud
- Click once in the 2D drawing view to position the starting point of the first arc of your revision cloud.
- Move the cursor in the desired direction until the cloud has the desired shape length and click. Then, the last point of the arc will extend to the first one to close the revision cloud.
- After placement, you can click and drag the yellow snap points to change the size of the arcs or use the circle node in the center to rotate.
Circular Revision Cloud
- Click once in the 2D drawing view to position the starting point as the center point for the circular cloud.
- Move the cursor away from the center point to determine the radius dimension then click once you confirm or you can also enter the desired radius dimension in the quick properties box right before the second click.
- After placement, you can click and drag the yellow snap points to change the size of the circular use the circle node in the center to rotate.
Elliptical Revision Cloud
- Click once in the 2D drawing view to position the starting point as the center point for the elliptical cloud.
- Before placing second point, in the quick properties make sure you switch/select Ellipse option
- Then key in the desired Width, Height and Angle and space bar. or just key in Width then drag the cursor away from the center point. This way you can adjust the size and the shape of the Ellipse accordingly.
- After placement, you can click and drag the yellow snap points to change the size of the Ellipse or use the circle node in the center to rotate.
Rectangular Revision Cloud
- Click once in the 2D drawing view to position the starting point for the rectangular cloud.
- Once you click, your cursor will switch to the second point of the cloud. Move your cursor in the desired direction to determine the width for the rectangular cloud, and click.
- The cursor will now switch to the third point and this is to determine the depth of the rectangular cloud. Click one last time to finalize.
- After placement, you can click and drag the yellow snap points to change the size of the circular or use the circle node in the center to rotate.
Revision Cloud
- Click once to set the starting point, then move your cursor to around the overall area that you want to enclose to create the shape you want.
- Each click will be the location of a stretch node for the final shape.
- Join the last arc with the first one to close the revision cloud; you should see the help text reading "End" to confirm that the points are overlapping. Click one last time to complete the shape. The straight line is replaced with red arcs.

After placement, you can click and drag the yellow snap points and the green triangles to change the shape of the revision cloud or use the circle node in the center to rotate.
Changing the Revision Cloud Properties
After drawing a revision cloud, you can select it and adjust the settings from the quick properties box. Click on Edit to expand the options.
Elevation: Arrange order of 2D shapes in the drawing view
2D Position: Show 2D shapes in front of or behind other objects in the 2D drawing view
Line Style: Use drop-down to select a pre-defined style or click Edit to customize Width (thickness), type (solid, dashed, etc.), and more.
