To draw two-dimensional lines in CET, go to 2D Lines on the Tools component tab or the Lines on the Drawing (paper) component tab in the Paper View.
Help line and help point can also be found in the Drawing aids section on the Wall drawing component tab or on the 2D toolbar.
2D Lines
Line
- Select the Line tool from the component tab and place it in the drawing area by clicking once.
- Enter the desired length in the properties.
- Enter the angle for the line by moving the mouse pointer in the desired direction or by entering an exact value in the properties box. Confirm by clicking.
Multiple Lines
- Select the Multiple lines tool from the component tab and place it in the drawing area by clicking once.
- Enter the desired length in the properties box that appears.
- Enter the angle for the line, either by moving the mouse pointer in the desired direction or by entering an exact value. Confirm by clicking.
- The next line will automatically have its starting point at the end of the previous line. Repeat these steps
Leader Settings
Select the leader you wish to make settings for. A properties box is displayed:
- Elevation: Choose the elevation of the lines.
- 2D Position: Decide the visibility of the line in the 2D drawing area by selecting Back, Mid, or Front.

2D Arrows
You can add four different types of arrows: Leader, Leader with two lines, Leader with multiple lines and Leader with multiple lines that stay connected.
Leader
- Select the Leader icon in the Arrows field. Place the starting point it in the drawing area by clicking once.
- Move the mouse pointer in desired direction without holding down the mouse button, or enter the Length and Angle in the properties box.
- Click once the leader has reached desired length and points in desired direction.
Leader with Two Lines
- Select the Leader with two lines icon from the component tab and place the starting point in the drawing area by clicking once.
- Move the mouse pointer in desired direction without holding down the mouse button, or enter the Length and Angle in the properties box.
- Click once to mark a breaking point.
- Change the leader’s direction by moving the mouse pointer in desired direction.
- Click once the leader has reached desired length and points in desired direction. The leader is then placed on the sheet.
Leader with Multiple Lines
- Select the Leader with multiple lines icon from the component tab and place the starting point in the drawing area by clicking once.

- Click once to mark a breaking point.
- Change the leader’s direction by moving the mouse pointer in desired direction. Repeat steps 4-5 as many times as needed.
Leader with Multiple Lines that Stay Connected
- Select the Leader with multiple lines that stay connected icon from the component tab and place the starting point in the drawing area by clicking once.
- Move the mouse pointer in desired direction without holding down the mouse button, or enter the Length and Angle in the properties box.
- Click once to mark a breaking point.
- Change the leader’s direction and length by moving the mouse pointer in desired direction. Repeat steps 4-5 as many times as needed. All lines created with this tool will stay connected and act as as one object in the drawing.
Leader Settings
Select the leader you wish to make settings for. A properties box is displayed:
Short text: Type a short text to label the leader. The text will follow the leader and keep its relative position if the leader is moved or rotated.
Text style: Define the Style of the short text (if used), or customize by expanding the Edit. Create and edit your own Styles from the Style Editor.
Horizontal label: Keep the text horizontal no matter how the leader is rotated.
Elevation: Choose the elevation of the leader lines in the 2D drawing area.
2D Position: Decide the visibility of the leader in the 2D drawing area by selecting Back, Mid, or Front.
Two arrow heads: Add arrowhead to both ends of the line.
Arrow head size: Enter the size of the arrow head(s).
Line Style: Define the Style of the leader line or customize by expanding the Edit.
