To draw two-dimensional circles and ellipses in CET, go to Tools Component Tab and navigate to the 2D Circles and Ellipses section. To draw circles and ellipses on a Paper, go to Paper View, enter the Drawing (paper) Component Tab and find the 2D Circles and Ellipses section.
Circle by Radius
To draw a circle with a given radius, follow these steps:
- Select the Circle by radius tool.
- Move the cursor into the drawing area.
- Left-click once to set the center of the circle, and extend the circle to the desired radius OR type the desired radius in the properties box that appears.
- Left-click once more OR press Enter on your keyboard to complete the circle.
Circle by Diameter
To draw a circle with a given diameter, follow these steps:
- Select the Circle by diameter tool.
- Move the cursor to the drawing area.
- Left-click once to set one point on the outside edge of your circle, then extend the circle to the desired diameter OR type the desired diameter in the properties box that appears.
- Left-click once more OR press Enter on your keyboard to complete the circle.
Ellipse by Radius
To draw an ellipse with a given radius, follow these steps:
- Select the Ellipse tool.
- Move the cursor to the drawing area.
- Left-click once to set the center of the ellipse and extend to the desired radius (from the center to the furthest point on the long side of the ellipse) OR enter the desired radius in the properties box that appears. While placing, you can also rotate the ellipse.
- Left-click once more OR press Enter on your keyboard to complete the ellipse.
Regardless of which kind of circle or ellipse you draw, they each have a properties box where you can adjust the settings after placing:
Elevation: Arrange order of 2D shapes in the drawing view.
2D Position: Show 2D shapes in front of or behind other objects in the 2D drawing view
Line Style: Use drop-down to select a pre-defined style or click Edit to customize Width (thickness), type (solid, dashed, etc.), and more.
Fill background: Check this box to make the background a solid color .
Background color: Click this box to change the color of the fill.
Hatch Style: Use drop-down to select a pre-defined style or click Edit to customize hatch type.
