Getting Started
The 2D and 3D columns work together with the G0-G6*, PO, and SO columns to display the graphics inside CET and Spec. Without the DWG files, the compiled data from the columns/spreadsheet would have nothing to reference. This would result in no 2D or 3D images.
Previously, only the file name (without the extension) was added to the 2D and 3D columns of the SAM tab.
Now it's time to collect the DWG files for each Part Number and separate them into two separate folders:
- 2D files
- 3D files
A DWG is a file type closely associated with AutoCAD that includes the block for a given Part Number. A block is a collection of geometric objects and text grouped together to create symbols and add details.
Make sure the drawing is set to use the imperial system. The metric system will not work.
* Additional G columns may be added depending on the product options.
