Under the Tools section, there are several interesting tools you can use to help create a better drawing.
Conveyor Properties
In the Tools section, clicking the Edit Properties... button will open the Conveyor Properties dialog window.
This is a special dialog that houses all the conveyor names in the drawing on the left side and lists its properties on the right side. This makes editing the properties of a lot of conveyors much easier than going through each one on a large conveyor system of potentially hundreds or thousands of conveyors.
At the very top left of this dialog, there are four tabs that read: All, Selection, Model, and Tag. These are methods to select groups of conveyors.
Tab | Description |
All | Every conveyor in the drawing |
Selection | Lists all conveyors that are currently selected |
Model | Lists down all conveyors of a certain Model. Currently there is only "CT". Developer Note: Override the modelNo() function under custom/materialHandling/products/conveyors/convSnapper.cm |
Tags | Lists down conveyors under certain tags in CET. |
Conveyor Name Animation
This tool can help you name a lot of conveyors at once by using a Prefix-Number-Suffix system.
Clicking into the Animation will reveal its settings as quick properties:
You can type in your Prefix, Number and Suffix to your convention of naming conveyors.
Then you can set the Increment of the number from one connecting conveyor to another.
There are two ways of applying, Single and Line.
Single | Line |
Polyline Insert
This tool is only available for case conveyors and allows you to insert conveyors as if it were a polyline. With each subsequent click, you are inserting either a straight or curved conveyor according to where your mouse is.
Clicking on the tool will reveal its settings in quick properties:
The first step is to decide which straight or curved conveyor part to use, as it will remain as such throughout the span of this insert. Then the first click will establish the starting point of the conveyor line, subsequent clicks will begin a new Segment of the polyline.
When you are done, either choose Close for the Segment Type to connect back to the first conveyor; or click on the Insert button to finalize and create the conveyors.
While you are inserting, you can change the Elev. from Floor property to set the discharge incline of the inserting segment.
Changing BF (Between Frames) during the animation will also change all previous conveyor's BF values.
Point-to-Point Insert
This tool is only available for case conveyors and is a useful tool to simplify connecting two conveyor ends. It automatically creates straight and curved conveyors, extrapolating between different configurations.
Clicking the Insert for the first time reveals its setting in the quick properties box. This is for choosing the straight and curved conveyors for automatic insertion:
To begin, click the end of the first conveyor, and then click on the end of the second conveyor to establish which point to which point. Next, choose the curved conveyor angles (30, 45, 60, 90 degrees). Lastly, position where the curve begins and ends.
Apply Skew to Conveyor Roller Bed
Roller beds on case conveyors can have some skew angle to their rollers for positioning MTBH, this tool allows you to set the skew angle of conveyors with roller beds, specifically:
- Straight Belt Driven Roller Unit
- Straight Accumulation Unit
- Straight MDR Accumulation Unit
- Straight Gravity Unit
Clicking on the animation will show four skew choices in quick properties:
Hover onto the target conveyor and you should see the conveyor highlighted by a dark blue box, this means the animation can be applied onto the conveyor.
Clicking onto the conveyor will apply the skew onto it.
Elevation
The Elevation tool is useful to see the side of any conveyor. It opens another window containing the 2D side view of anything within the defined area.
To begin, you need to define the area of the Elevation. Start by clicking into the top left of the desired area, then choose the rotation and width of the Elevation. Finally, define the depth of the box.
Double-clicking the arrow or lines of the area will open another window showing the Elevation view.
Here, you can insert measurements, texts, etc. And when you are done, you can put it in a Paper using the Snip to Paper View button.
Spot Elevation
This tool places a measurement onto the side of a conveyor. It measures the height between that point and the floor.
If the To Level property is disabled, it measures the height between the point and the ground floor. If it is enabled, it measures the height between the point and the level it is placed on.
Conveyor Decal
You can insert an image onto the side of a conveyor using this tool. After inserting, double-clicking onto the image will open the file explorer to select the desired image.
Decals can also be added using Schemes:
Flow Arrow
The Flow Arrow is an indication of where the MTBH flows towards.
