The following external programs and versions are supported:
- AutoCAD versions 2019 - 2022.
- Revit versions 2022 - 2025.
- Revit files must be exported as a Revit Floorplan (*.cmrfp) in order to import into CET. This can be done with the Revlink Add-in.
- SketchUp versions up until 2022.
As of September 2021, CET no longer supports the pCon.planner. As a workaround, you may try to convert it to any of our supported file formats in the table below.

While working in CET, you might come across the file formats listed below.
File format | Supported in: | What is it? |
.dwg |
CET Core, |
Derived from "Drawing", DWG is a binary file format that contains 2D and 3D design data. DWG files are basically CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings consisting of vector image data and metadata written with binary coding. It is the native format of most CAD applications, especially AutoCAD. |
.dxf |
CET Core, |
DXF is short for Drawing Interchange Format or Drawing Exchange Format. It is a text-based CAD data file format that enables data interoperability between AutoCAD and other programs. |
.dxb | CET Core, Export |
DXB is short for Drawing Exchange Binary, which is the binary version of a .dxf file. It is a vector image format used by AutoCAD that stores 3D CAD drawings such as buildings and landscape designs. |
.udatasmith | CET Core, Export |
Epic Games' Unreal Datasmith is a file standard that is used to import 3D scenes into Unreal Engine projects. Datasmith folders contain Assets such as meshes and textures. These Assets are used to create a .udatasmith file. |
.fbx | CET Core, Export |
An FBX file is a 3D model saved in the Autodesk Filmbox format. It contains a model that can be used and shared across various digital modelling and content creation programs. FBX files are often used in game development and animation. |
.glb | CET Core, Export |
GLB stands for "GL Transmission Format Binary file" which is a standardized file format used to share 3D data. It can contain information about 3D scenes, models, lighting, materials, node hierarchy, and animations. |
.gltf | CET Core, Export |
glTF stands for "GL Transmission Format" and is a 3D file format that stores 3D model information in JSON format. It supports static models, animation, and moving scenes. |
.ifc / .ifczip |
CET Core, |
An IFC file is a model file created in the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) format, which is an open file format used by Building Information Modeling (BIM) programs. It contains a model of a building or facility, including spatial elements, materials, and shapes. .ifczip is a compressed IFC file. *Importing an .ifc file into CET requires a license for the IFC Interface Extension, which can be obtained from the Marketplace. |
.obj | CET Core, Export |
This is an ASCII-based file format that describes geometries and other properties of 3D objects. The file format is open and has been implemented by a number of 3D programs so that one can import and export to and from Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and many others. |
CET Core, Export |
PDF stands for Portable Document Format. A PDF file can contain links, buttons, form fields, audio, video, images, and more and can easily be viewed using different, free PDF reader software. | |
.skp | CET Core, *Export |
An SKP file is a three-dimensional model created by SketchUp. It contains a model that is comprised of wireframes, shades, edge effects, and textures. SKP files may also include components that can be inserted into other SketchUp documents. *Exporting an .skp file from CET requires a license for the SketchUp Extension, which can be obtained from the Marketplace. |
.stp | STEP Drawing Import and Export Extension | An STP file contains three-dimensional object data saved in the Standard for the Exchange of Product Data (STEP) format. STP files are saved in a text-based ASCII format. |
.xlsx | CET Core, Tools |
An XLSX file is an Excel spreadsheet. It stores data in worksheets, which contain cells arranged in a grid of rows and columns, and may also contain charts, mathematical functions, styles, and formatting. Note that spreadsheets are imported into CET as images. |
.sif | Calculation, Order export |
SIF, or Standard Interchange Format, is a geospatial data exchange format. |
.xml | Calculation, Order export |
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information; documents, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. |
.bmp, .gif, .tif, .jpg, .png | CET Core, Tools |
