To improve the stability and performance of CET, we recommend adjusting the settings of antivirus programs to allow CET run more efficiently. Without these exceptions, CET will run slower than normal, or might not run at all. Some other common symptoms of antivirus interference may be: problems with saving files, downloading updates, or rendering with the advanced graphics engine.
Be sure to exclude these executable files from active scanning:
- CETDesigner.exe
- CETRenderserver.exe
- CETSave.exe
- CETDownloader.exe
- CETDCDownload.exe
- CETDCUpload.exe
- CETLaunch.exe
- CETLauncher.exe
- CETHelper.exe
- ConfiguraDownloader.exe
File Type exclusions:
It may be necessary to create exceptions for various file types that CET uses. Here is a list of some file types used by CET:
.cmdrw, .cmbak, .cmlock, .cmpck, .cmfrl, .cmrf, .cmppr, .cmfav, .cmscl, .cmpri, .cmstl, .cmpvs, .cmtbx, .cmclc, .cmsum, .cmLight, .cmpreset, .cmrcf, .cmftb, .cmwrk
Folder exclusions:
- %localappdata%\CET Data\
- %localappdata%\CETCatalog
- %localappdata%\Configura
- %localappdata%\ConfiguraDownloader\
- %programfiles%\Configura CET Designer\
- %programfiles%\CET\
- %programdata%\Configura\
Additional Antivirus considerations:
Some antivirus programs may require more extensive configuration beyond our standard list of exclusions. We’ve found that products like SentinelOne, Webroot, McAfee, Norton and Sophos Intercept X, depending on how they’re deployed and configured, may still interfere with CET’s performance or stability even after base exceptions are added.
If CET continues to experience slowness, freezing, or unexpected crashes after applying the recommended exclusions, we suggest trying the following:
-
Ensure all CET-related folders and executable files are excluded from both real-time and behavioral scanning
-
Review any policy-enforced overrides or protection modules that may still be monitoring the application despite applied exceptions
-
Review antivirus logs or threat history to check if any CET-related activity is being flagged or blocked
Due to the ever-evolving nature and variety of antivirus/antimalware software, we are unable to provide a comprehensive list of other conflicting software. Please use the suggestions above as a way of troubleshooting the antivirus/antimalware software that your company uses.
