All Editions News & Changes
Help Menu
We have given the Help menu in CET a refresh. This includes a new unified dialog for requesting new features and reporting bugs as well as gathering a lot of things, that used to get their own separate dialogs, into one location in the About CET ... dialog.
The new About CET ... dialog also contains relevant information about your computer’s hardware in one easy-to-access location.
Drag and Drop Files
CET now supports dragging and dropping of files directly from web links in your browser such as CET drawings, Favorites, DWG files, and SketchUp objects.
Initial support for this functionality primarily targets Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. It may still work with your favorite browser (but not Firefox), but we cannot make any guarantees.
Photo Lab
A slider has been added to the Photo Lab Realistic light settings to allow control over the Sunlight.
The Temperature Post Processing option in the Photo Lab has been enhanced with a colored slider to make it easier to understand and use.
As a part of this change, we are also replacing the old Auto temperature button with a new White balance control dropdown and picker tool.
Exporting Filter
When exporting from CET, the Export Filter dialog will now offer a setting to match what is currently used in the drawing.
Follow 3D View
A new setting, Follow 3D View, has been created for additional 3D views. This setting works like the Follow 2D View option to make the camera in additional 3D views follow the main 3D view.
Matting Option
We have expanded and improved the Frame options for the Image on wall object. You now have more detailed control over frame width and material in addition to a Matting option.
Extension Updates
IFC
-
Select IFC For Move has been added as a new tool for IFC import. This lets you select all IFC objects, as well as the Zero Point, in your drawing to move them while preserving their original positions for export.
-
- This should remove the need to go through the tedious process of unlocking, moving, and re-locking the objects.
-
RevLink
- The RevLink Extension now supports filtering during export.
-
The Export Revit Layout dialog also offers a pre-defined option for filtering out CET architectural objects. This replaces the old option found in the RevLink Settings, that defaulted to excluding architectural objects.

In addition, some buttons have been moved around to improve the workflow. As part of this the Product Legend tool has been renamed to Flooring Legend.

- When creating/working with custom products, you can now add auxiliary data information such as data keys and values.
