Summary
Users have reported receiving a “DS downloadTask” background task crash error message in CET.
Error Details
The issue appears as a red error banner within CET:
When selecting “More Info,” an additional error message is displayed indicating that the background download task has failed:
Workaround
This error typically occurs when the Catalog Downloader is processing a download task and encounters a failure while retrying the operation.
In most cases, the issue resolves automatically after several retry attempts. No user action is required, though the resolution may take a few minutes while the downloader completes its retries.
If the error persists, running a Clean Start in CET has been known to help with this issue as well.
