Summary
CET may close unexpectedly when attempting to open or load a Windows File Explorer dialog.
Error Details
No error message is displayed. CET closes abruptly and returns to the desktop.
Workarounds
If you are experiencing this issue, try the following steps to reduce the likelihood of the crash.
Open Windows File Explorer and:
Turn Preview pane OFF (
Alt + P)Turn Details pane OFF
In File Explorer "Folder Options":
Open File Explorer to: “This PC” (not Quick Access)
Uncheck Show recently used files and Show frequently used folders

Click Clear to reset File Explorer history
Affected Actions and Alternative Workflows:
The following actions may trigger the issue. Where possible, alternative methods are listed below:

Opening the file browser to save or load a drawing

As a workaround, uncheck “Use Windows Load/Save dialog” in CET’s Control Panel.

As a workaround, drag and drop image or PDF files into CET.
