Downloading the Revision History from the Marketplace will add an extension tab to CET that contains a legend that you can place in your 2D drawing view or Paper View.
The Revision History is really helpful when you want to keep track of things happening in your drawing. You can use this tool to keep track of changes and updates for you and your colleagues if you are working on the same drawing but at different times.
Place Legend
To place a Revision History legend in your drawing, follow these steps:
- Go to the Revision History extension tab.
- Left click on the Legend icon.
- Move the mouse pointer to the 2D drawing area and left click to place the legend.
- Once you are finished, hit Esc on your keyboard, or move your cursor outside of the drawing area to escape the command.
- Use the quick properties box to change the settings for styles, size, add rows, open Revision History etc.
Revision History Dialog
To add a revision click on the Add Row from the quick properties box.
Or, double click on the legend to open the Revision History Dialog and add information from there.
Overview of the Revision History Dialog:
| Whenever a new row is inserted, it is automatically populated with information in the fields for NAME, DWN, DATE and TIME by pulling in information from the current CET session. | |

Inserts a new row. |

Copy all cells, copies all cell data (using tab separation) to the clipboard for easy pasting into other programs, like Excel. |

| Edit: Opens the edit text dialog for making changes to the Comment field. You can also edit the different cells directly by double clicking on them | |
| Lock: Locks the row to prevent accidental editing; no cells can be changed while the lock is active. |
To add information:
Double click in the Revision Description field and type in the information directly.
or hit Edit button to open the text dialog. Type in the information then hit Apply and the text will appear in Revision Description field.
If you want to, you can lock the information you have inserted by using the little lock at the end of the row. Just left-click to lock/unlock. This means that only the person who created that row and shared the information will have access to edit the text and/or delete the row.
Paper View
The Revision History legend can also bee placed in Paper View. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open Paper view by clicking on the Paper icon down in the right hand corner of the drawing view.
- You find the Revision History legend from the Revision History section inside the Tools paper extension.
- Left-click on the Legend and move the cursor out to the paper. Left-click to place. Hit Esc or move the cursor out over to the left to end the command.
- Follow the steps above.
