Beginning 15th March 2021, all new Extensions or new product available to CET edition that are to be added to the Marketplace will need to go through the Extension Review. If I have an existing Extension on the Marketplace, will I have to go through the Extension Review?
Currently, only new Extensions that are to be added to the Marketplace and extension that make available to other edition the first time will need to go through the Extension Review. In the future, we will expand this process to include periodic reviews of already-published Extensions and the ability for users to submit tickets that may trigger a review. The process and timeline of reviewing already-published Extensions is still in development but will communicated later this year.
When should I submit my Extension for review?
Submitting your Extension for review means that you are ready for your Extension to go live on the Marketplace. We recommend submitting for review when your extension development is done and gone though testing by your QA. Also, you should fill in information such as Marketplace description, contact support information, logo for your extension. More info of what we check for Marketplace can be found in the “Marketplace” section in the report card.
What should be written in the Extension description?
When you are writing your extension description, we expect the users to be informed about what the extension does and what kind of products are in the extension. It will be good to include a brief introduction of your company, an overview of the extension and the products that is in the extension. As as example you can refer to the marketplace description for FIKA extension in this link.
Are there anything else that I should complete before I could publish my extension?
Most of the items that you need to do is included in the “Project status” in your extension. However, we would appreciate if the “Info for user” column in Marketplace options is also filled especially with support information for the extension. This information will be sent to the users when they got the license allocated and we believed this will enhance user experience.
