We’ve highlighted some of the most common issues to help you better prepare before submitting for an Extension Review. On average, over 40% of the unresolved extension issues are related to the topics covered below.

Crashes and bugs

Submit extension for review only when they’re complete and ready to be published. Your extension should be the final version with all necessary data included; unused toolbox text, icons, empty toolbox tab and other temporary content should be removed before submission. Make sure to test your extension on the latest CET version and fix all major bugs before submitting.

High polygon count

Always ensure your snappers has Level Of Details (LOD) generated and the polygon count is withing the budget value. Overly high polygon count will compromise performance and decrease user experience when creating a drawing. 

Check your snappers polygon count using Model Performance Tool (QA Tools) and adjust them using Model Lab.

We accept polygon numbers that are highlighted in Green and Yellow. Avoid Black at all cost. This is normally the raw polygon count of the model. Red can be accepted if higher quality is needed for display in drawing on certain model layers, with clarification.

Categories on snappers

Categories enable our users to change visibility of the snapper with ease to control what needs to be shown. Whether doing it by filtering the snappers or changing view modes in the drawing. Always make sure that categories has been assigned to your snappers. Avoid having duplicated categories created and assigned to a snapper.

Missing models and materials

Ensure that model for your snapper is showing when they are clicked and placed into drawing. Failing on doing this will result in an UFO (Box with question mark) showing in the drawing area.

Also ensure that materials is mapped to the model, whether is it a default material, or an "Undecided" material.

Broken link

All links included in your extension must be functional. We recommend to have a link to your user support if you are doing self support with updated information. Also a link to your extension's information and manufacturer website is recommended.

Toolbox content

Finalize all images (Banner, Toolbox tab icon and Toolbox icons) and text before submitting for review. Ensure all icons are visible and show up properly. Check tool-tips to make sure there are no missing resources issues. Toolbox that contain items that are still work in progress and incomplete content will not be approved.

Broken feature

No matter whether is it stretching, changing options or applying finishes, we want them to work as intended and does not block the ability to create a drawing. Always test to make sure your snapper stretch properly and change to the intended graphics. Ensure changing of option from the property box, and applying finishes from both property box and scheme works correctly.

Also it is always good to clean up the unused connectors on a snappers so that it does not overcrowd when placed in the drawing.

Adapting latest CET features

We always wanted our customer extensions to adapt to the latest extension feature developed by Configura for better user experience. While we understand it is challenging for extensions that are already in the Marketplace for many years to migrate to these new feature, we want all the new extension to start using the new feature as development begins. Some of the new features includes using the latest Property box (G2 Properties) and Scheme (PropsScheme) version.

Marketplace

Marketplace description

User that wanted to use your extension will be reading this information. Remember to fill up the marketplace description section. It is okay to include introduction on the company but also important to tell the user what extension it is and what products will they expect.

Support information

Remember to select a support option between Configura Support or Self Support. If your are choosing self support, remember to enter information to all the fields. Your support information will be available in your extension page in Marketplace.

Logo and icon

Do not leave the extension logo and license icon section blank. Ensure you understand the requirements needed for the images and upload the correct image for them.
