In the Select material dialog, the Textures tab allows you to upload your own photos to create unique materials for wallpapers, tiles, different types of flooring, and more. To use textures in CET, you have to gather and store them yourself.
Besides this dialog, you can also use the Material Explorer for even more extensive finish options and the Material Lab for more control of changes to existing and new materials.

Changing texture scale
Textures have a predefined scale. This is determined by the size of the image imported. If the image is too small, the material will not appear accurate, and depending on the quality and lighting of the image, you may see a tiling effect across a surface.
To change a texture’s scale, follow these steps:
- On the Texture tab in the Select material dialog box, select the desired texture.
- Drag the Texture Scale slider or choose the desired value. The starting point is a 1:1 scale, which is shown as 1.00 in the dialog box. If you want to make the texture twice as large, enter 2, or half as large, enter 0.5.
- Click Use at the bottom of the dialog box, and move the cursor to the object you want to change.
- Note the Quick Properties box in the corner of the drawing view listing the layers of the symbol. Use the Tab key on your keyboard to switch between the layers.
- Click to apply the new texture to the selected layer.

A copy of the Imported Textures will be stored in the CET Data folder, located here:
