All Editions News & Changes
Next Phase of the CET Facelift
- Starting with CET 15.5 Major, the new user interface will be enabled by default. For some time, still, we'll keep the toggle on the title bar; now letting you opt-out from the new UI.
This version of CET brings with it several updates to the new UI:
- A new button has been added to the component tabs configuration bar, letting you collapse/expand the entire component tab area in one go.
- The right-click menu in the drawing view has been updated.
- Right-clicking the empty space on the program's main toolbar now allows for quick access to Keyboard Shortcuts and the Work Mode Editor.
- Visual tweaks to the update progress indicator and a new tooltip displaying progress percentages.
- The "Share feedback" option for CET's new user interface has been moved from the right side of the program window to the title bar. In this little pop-up dialog, we've also included a link to CET's original feedback dialog, where you can report an issue or submit a feature request.
- The Tools (paper) component tab of Paper View, along with many icons in Paper View, is getting a facelift to align with CET's new user interface.
- Tooltips pop up faster to ensure a more responsive experience.
- The 2D and 3D pop-up views that can be opened from the Views menu or by right-clicking in the drawing space now have buttons in the bottom right corner for switching between 2D/3D/Paper views.
- The buttons for switching between the 2D/3D/split screen views now allow keyboard shortcuts to be assigned to them by right-clicking on their respective buttons.
- We have fixed the problem with keyboard shortcuts in tooltips not updating correctly for buttons for New, Open, Save, Print, Undo, Redo on the menu bar.
- A new button has been added to the component tabs configuration bar, letting you collapse/expand the entire component tab area in one go.

Adding Back the Option to Store Auto backups Beside Drawing
- By popular demand, the option to store auto backups beside your project files returns! Although "Choose location" will remain selected by default, you can switch to "Next to drawing" to mimic the behavior of how CET stored auto backups in version 14.0 or earlier. CET will remember which option you've selected.
Quicker and Easier to Locate Materials in the Material Explorer
- The Material Explorer has been updated to be more responsive and load materials faster. We've also sorted materials into three tabs — CET Materials, Manufacturer Materials, and My Materials — for quick and easy access to different types of materials on the fly while also improving the entire dialog's performance.
As a result, we've also updated the Material folders dialog to display the material folder of all three tabs:
General Updates
- Customer's Own Materials can now be saved and loaded as .gm files with product and material data.
- Finish legends*, found in the Catalogue Browser component tab or the FIKA Office component tab, now support COM materials and also offer the possibility to filter between Catalog finishes and Customer's Own Materials.
*Please note that Finish legends are not available in the Kitchen & Bath Edition of CET.
- A new option has been added to the Views menu that lets you quickly cycle between views
(2D, 3D, split view and Paper View, in that order).
- Exporting from CET's Calculation to OFDA XML will now include a product's Ind. Tag.
Extension Updates
Commercial Interiors Library
- In CIL, you'll find a new feature for converting symbols from CIL to symbols inserted from the Catalogue Browser. It's called "Convert to Catalogue Browser Symbol" and it is located in the Tools section of the CIL component tab.
- The CIL component tab has been updated to align with CET's new user interface. All tools for V4, including the "Convert to DWG (2D only)" tool, have been removed from the Extension since it is no longer supported.
- The "Symbol Change Request" tool has been removed from CIL. Instead, CET Support will help escalate change requests.
Extension Updates
-
The Kitchen Scheme dialog now offers two different modes for applying schemes, selectable in the bottom right area of the dialog:
-
Automatic apply to all ON: this is turned ON for all new drawings. When turned on, all changes in the Scheme dialog are automatically applied to all products in the drawing.
-
Automatic apply to all OFF: if turned off, no changes are made to products automatically. Instead, you'll have to pick one of the three apply methods (Target, Selection, All) to apply the scheme.
If you switch back to Automatic apply to all and there are several schemes in the drawing, a warning dialog will ask if you want to continue applying the scheme to the entire drawing.
-
- Also new in the Kitchen Scheme dialog is a list at the bottom left corner that shows which schemes are present/used in the drawing:
Essential Kitchen EU
- Additional cabinets have been added.
- It is now possible to change the dimensions of freestanding appliances, such as dishwasher, stove, and fridge.
Extension Updates
Material Handling Library Officially Released
- The Material Handling Library moves out of Beta stage and is officially released in CET 15.5 Major. This new library provides a seamless way to access, utilize, and integrate a wider range of manufacturer content, allowing you to enhance your design process. The MH Library is available to all users of CET Material Handling on our Marketplace.
- The new Material Handling Library Picklist lets you combine products from the Material Handling Library into units; letting you modify the part number, description, quantity, and pricing in the Picklist Manager. You can also add your own column in the Picklist Manager and enter more information on products. All added information will then be included in the Calculation.
- A notification will be shown if there are price changes for products in the drawing from the Material Handling Library.
CET Essentials for Material Handling

-
We have improved the Chinese translation for Case and Pallet Conveyors for clarity and accuracy.
Fixes & Enhancements
Improvements
- Identifying and selecting a tool group within a toolbox, such as regular walls on the Wall drawing tab, is now easier thanks to a blue indicator showing when hovering over the toolgroup. Opening the tool group is done by either clicking the arrow in the lower right corner, or by right-clicking anywhere on the tool group icon.
- The "Send feedback" dialog, accessible from CET's Help menu, now allows up to 100 attachment files, doubling the previous limitation of 50.
- Some Japanese translations in CET have been updated and enhanced.
- Added support for changing direction using arrow keys when placing a quick chain dimension.
- A progress indicator has been added to the Catalogue Downloader to help provide a better overview of what the Downloader is working on.
- We have optimized the Catalogue Downloader so that it will be faster to get updates after the first time you use it.
- Configura SIF will no longer export the Option List Up Charge (OL) field. It will, however, still be available in the Custom SIF Export.
- For the new user interface, the Application color settings have been removed from the Control Panel.
- When printing a report to PDF, there is now a "Reduced precision" option in the Settings. When we introduced vector PDF a while back, PDF files exported from CET got significantly larger in size. This new option can be selected to reduce precision, hence resulting in smaller files, similar to how it was before vector PDFs.
- We have updated View Modes to resolve common issues and enhance overall functionality.
- Fixed issue where exporting to CAD could, in some cases, result in a crash.
- Fixed issue with selecting a component tab that could cause a crash.
- Fixed issue where changing the catalogues download location in the Control Panel could cause a crash.
- Fixed issue in CET Kitchen & Bath that could cause a crash when inserting a tap.

- Fixed problem with some objects not exporting via RevLink.
- Fixed problem where RevLink floor plans containing non-ascii characters in their name could not be imported into CET.
- Fixed problem with Dimension length texts that would show 12 inches instead of 1 foot.

CET Essentials for Material Handling
- Fixed problem in Essential Pallet Racking that would allow a flue gap of 1mm to generate flue spacers that were not connected to anything; appearing as free-floating in the air. Now, any flue gap below 100mm will not generate flue spacers.
- Fixed problem in Essential Pallet Racking where removing the flue gap between back to back double rows would incorrectly classify the disconnected rows as double instead of single.
- Fixed problem in the Essential Pallet Racking Extension with spreading a double row to a single row which could prevent the single row from being rotated or having a backfence attached to it.
- Fixed problem with Essential Deep Racking where the unit load could be colliding or missing after changing the height, width, or depth of the rack through the quick properties box or through stretching.
- Fixed problem with the foot width value not being respected if the frame width for either Essential Pallet Racking or Essential Deep Racking was changed.
- Fixed problem with missing configurations in the Bay Editor and Frame Editor after undoing the use of Spread tools.
- Fixed problem in Essential Pallet Racking where repositioning a row and then undoing the action would result in the row being disconnected from the entire racking system.

- Fixed problem with removing bays by using the stretch nodes, which could remove more bays than expected.
- Fixed problem with shortening a row by stretching the left stretch node to the right that would incorrectly remove bays from the right of the row instead of the left.
- Fixed problem with multiple instances of the same bay configuration appearing in the Bay Editor.
- Fixed problem with applying a custom frame to Deep Racking from the Frame Editor, which could result in an incorrect frame configuration.
- Fixed problem with the scrollbar not appearing in the Pre Configurator in cases where the Options list was very long.
- Fixed problem where modifying unused unit loads in the Unit Load Editor would randomly affect bay configurations in the drawing.

- Fixed problem with the stretch nodes not always being positioned correctly at the leftmost and rightmost ends of the Pallet Checkpoint model.
- Fixed problem with the Essential ASRS Extension showing the same icon for the Double Crane as for the Single Crane. They now have their separate icons.
- Fixed problem in Essential Shelving where placing a shelving system diagonally and then dragging shelves using a "Row" or "System" spread option could result in the shelves getting disconnected from the shelving system.
- Fixed problem where shortening a row by using the stretch nodes would not update the heights of the outermost frames, resulting in an incorrect Outer Frame Height Difference.
- Fixed problem with the Preconfigurator where the value of the Load to Beam setting was not respected after the user had changed the unit load to be lower in height than the default unit load.
