To export a drawing from CET to IFC, follow these steps:
- In CET, prepare your drawing area by ensuring that the level elevations are correct. This can be done in two ways:
- Design your space.
- Go to the IFC Extension component tab and click the Export button.
- The Save as dialog will open to confirm the IFC file name and the directory it's in.
Name the file and choose the directory to save, and click Save.
- The Export IFC Drawing dialog will show and asks for a Level of Detail for the exporting IFC file. You can leave it at Medium if you're not sure, and adjust from thereafter.
- The Export smoother 2D graphics will result in a higher quality 2D graphics but will also take more time exporting.
- You can also Filter out CET components that should not be included in the export if needed.
→ Follow drawing filter will match the Export Filter settings with the current drawing Filter.
Gray indicates Follow drawing filter is disabled
Blue indicates Follow drawing filter is enabled
When Follow drawing filter is enabled, the View modes tab will be grayed out.
- Confirm with OK. The file is now exported to the *.ifc file type in the selected directory.
You can also export to IFC via the File menu, where you select Import & Export -> Export Drawing and pick .ifc or .ifczip as your file format.
To check for collisions between your IFC file and a Revit model, you can use the interference check in Revit.
