You can edit the visibility of layers in a CAD plan in CET either through CAD Settings, or through the tools in the CAD Tools section of the Tools Extension tab as described below.
An imported dwg drawing can include a number of different layers and entities. To make your work with the drawing easier, you have the ability to hide the layers and/or entities that do not need to be visible in your drawing. Use the following features to do this:
- Hide Entities
- Hide Layers
They can be found under CAD Tools on the Tools Extension tab.

Hide Entities
To hide entities in a dwg drawing, do as follows:
- Click the icon for Hide entities under CAD Tools on the Tools Extension tab.
- Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area and the dwg drawing. Entities will turn blue while hovering over them with the Hide entities tool active.
- Click once on the entity you wish to hide.
- The entity is no longer displayed in the dwg drawing.
Hide Layers
To hide layers in a dwg drawing, do as follows:
- Click the icon for Hide layers under CAD Tools on the Tools Extension tab.
- Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area and the dwg drawing. Layers will turn blue while hovering over them with the Hide layers tool active.
- Click once on the layer you wish to hide.
- The layer is no longer displayed in the dwg drawing.
Showing Hidden Layers and Entities in a Dwg Drawing
If you have used the feature Hide layers and/or Hide entities and wish to display what you have hidden, use the feature Show all hidden layers and entities which can be found on the Tools Extension tab.

To show hidden layers and entities in a dwg drawing, do as follows:
- Click the icon for Show all hidden layers and entities under CAD Tools on the Tools Extension tab.
- Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area and the dwg drawing.
- Click once on the dwg drawing.
- Hidden layers and entities are now displayed in the dwg drawing.
