This section is used to attempt to match resources to elements in the project. When attempting to match resources to products, filenames will be compared to the product code. When attempting to match resources to materials, filenames will be compared against the material code.
To find preview images that match products, press the Match Preview Images to Products button. To match material swatch images to materials, press the Match Material Files to Materials button. To match product models to products, press the Match Models to Products button. This button will also find file names with a “3-” prefix files to be used as models. If cm3D and cmSym models are both found for the same product, users are given a choice to choose the mapping by selection or by batch.
To match materials to material options, press the Match Materials to Options button.
By default, the automatic resource matching tool will search the resource directory appropriate to the project element, as specified by the Resource Directories section of the Project tab. Alternatively, an external directory can be searched for these resources. To specify such a directory, select the Search External Directory option, and specify the location in the field to
the right of it. In order for the project to utilize these matched files, they will need to exist within the project’s resource directories. If an external location
is specified and the tool finds matches, those resources will be copied to the required locations. If the Overwrite Existing Files option is specified, this will overwrite files with matching file names, if they exist.
By default, when searching for resources at the specified location, the automatic resource matching tool will search sub-directories for matches. To disable this functionality, de-select the Search Sub-Directories option.
