This is where you manage the catalogue’s feature collection by creating, removing and editing the features within a catalogue. This is also where you set default options from a list of available options.

Add a feature

To add a new feature, follow these steps:

1. In the Features window, double-click in a field under the Code header and enter a unique feature code.
2. Hit the arrow keys or the TAB key twice to confirm the entry and go to the next column, or click in the requested cell
3. Enter a Description. Note that there will be one description column for each language that is active in the catalogue. Without a description, the default name of the feature is “No label”.

The following settings are also available to features:

• Functional Selection: can be applied to any or all feature(s) that could alter the part number. Functional selection is to be used in combination with the SKU Selection option, which enables a certain option code to be applied to a part number. Here’s an example: A work chair has the part number A01A01. To this chair, we add a feature that is marked as Functional Selection. Within this feature, there is an option called ‘F’, let’s say it’s for fire code seating. If the option, or the feature, is marked as SKU Selection, the chair will become a new product and use A01A01F features and symbols if available.
• Multiple Selection: identifies if more than one option can be selected from the feature list, and so is a way of grouping features into one main feature. If a feature is marked as Multiple Selection, it will not be visible for the user. The Sub-features, however, will be visible as individual/independent options for the user.
• Optional Selection: identifies if a feature is required or optional for the user and will then appear as checkboxes in a product’s quick properties box.
• Omit on order: is an option that alters a component in some way but that should not be visible in the calculation dialog or during export, for example adding graphics or applying a certain finish. So what it basically does is excludes specific items from the bill of material.
• Property Visibility: Choose to show or hide this feature in the product's quick properties box.

Add an option

Each feature can, in turn, have several different options. To add an option to a feature, follow these steps:

1. Click the blue icon to the left of a feature. The feature that you are editing is shown in the box at the bottom left corner of the window.
2. In the Options window, double-click in a field under the Code header and enter a unique option code.
3. Hit the TAB key twice to confirm the entry and go to the next column, or click in the requested cell.
4. Enter a Description. Note that there will be one description column for each language that is active in the catalogue.

The following settings are also available to options:

1. Leadtime Program: Enables different materials or finishes to have different lead times, according to the settings in the Project Directory. When this feature is used within a Product Catalog with a certain Leadtime and the option is not within the Leadtime scope this option will not be accessible for the user.
2. SKU Selection: see the explanation above.
3. Undefined: Undefined means that the option is not a valid/real option. The user will be notified in the system validation to select something. Undefined should be used if the option is not an SKU Selection.
4. Features: select sub-features to an option from the list.

You can filter or sort any of the available columns. To do so, right-click on the header of each column.

Always remember to set your defaults by right-clicking an option in the tree view and selecting the Set default option. The default option is then marked in the spreadsheet. You can change the default option by going to the bottom left feature preview, selecting the desired option and then right-clicking and selecting Set default option.

In addition to the spreadsheet, several additional buttons are available for working with options:

• Cascade changes to all options with the same code: different options with identical codes are separate entities, however, by checking this box, changes made to a feature will also be applied to all other options in the catalogue that share the same code.
• Copy option(S): select several options from the spreadsheet, then press this button to copy those options to the clipboard.
• Paste option(s): if options have been copied to the clipboard, press this button to paste them to the currently edited feature.
• Visible column: toggle the visibility of columns in the options spreadsheet.
