Connectors cannot be placed on products directly. They are used by means of connector references, which may be placed on products. Multiple connector references may reference the same connector.
A connector reference has the following attributes:
- Reference – A reference to a connector, made by means of the connector’s code.
- Placement – Describes the location and orientation of the connector, in relation to its zero-point. The location component of the placement, is described as a 3 dimensional coordinate, whose units are the same as the units set for the project. The orientation component of the placement is described as a rotation vector and a rotation angle. The rotation vector describes a vector by which the connector is rotated about. The rotation angle describes the magnitude of the rotation about the rotation vector, given in degrees.
- Visible – Determines if the current connector referenced by the product should be visible.
- Use global : When set to "use global", reference connector will use the general rule that is defined in the connector.
- Always visible : When set as ‘visible’, the connector works as normal: it may attempt connections and may be the recipient of connections.
- Never visible : When set to ‘Never Visible’, the connector will not appear on the symbol when placed in a drawing, and may not attempt to connect to other symbols. It may, however, be the recipient of connections.
- Visible only for main product : When set to "Visible only for main product", the connector will only appear when the product it is set on is a Main product
- Visible only for additional product : When set to "Visible only for additional product", the connector will only appear when the product it is set on is an additional product of a main product.
- Connectable : Defines a rule on whether the connector referenced by the product should it be able to connect to another connector.
- Use Global : When set to "use global", reference connector will use the general rule that is defined in the connector.
- Always Connectable : The connector will able to connect as long as the attach defined matches
- Only for main product : The connector will be able to connect to an attach as long as the connector's product and the attach's product is a main product.
- Only for additional product : The connector will able to connect as long as the connector's product and the attach's product is an additional product.
