Creating Keyboard Shortcuts
It is possible to create or remove keyboard shortcuts. To create your own shortcut, follow these steps:
- Go to the File menu and select Keyboard shortcuts.
- Search for the command to which you want to assign a shortcut, or use the drop-down menu dividing commands into sections based on which menu or area the command is found in.
- Enter a key combination in the Key input field.
Individual letters, numbers, and punctuation, as well as any combination of Ctrl, Alt, or Shift, with letters, numbers, or punctuation, can be assigned. Multiple letters cannot be used together as one shortcut. - Click Assign.
- Click OK when you have finished editing your keyboard shortcuts.
It is possible to have more than one shortcut for a tool or feature. Therefore, you do not need to remove an existing shortcut before creating a new one.
If you enter a keyboard shortcut that already exists, a message appears below the input field telling you which feature/tool the shortcut represents. Click "Go to" to find the command that currently uses the shortcut to remove it, then return to the new command and assign it.
Removing Keyboard Shortcuts
If you wish to remove a keyboard shortcut, follow the steps below:
- Go to the File menu and select Keyboard shortcuts.
- Search for the command from which you want to remove a shortcut, or use the drop-down menu dividing commands into sections based on which menu or area the command is found in.
- Select the feature/tool from the list. The current shortcuts are shown in the Current keyboard shortcuts field.
- Select the shortcut and click the Remove button.
- Click OK when you have finished editing your keyboard shortcuts.
If you wish to reset all keyboard shortcuts to the original shortcuts, click the Reset button.
