About groups
A quick way to control multiple lights at once is to use groups. Having lights in groups makes adjusting light settings more efficient since you will not have to change them one-by-one.
For example, if you have many florescent lights or pendant lights, if assigned to the same group, the brightness, shadows, etc. can all be adjusted together.
When you place a ceiling grid light, spotlight or fluorescent light they are not automatically part of a group; however, the window light defaults to the DL (Day Light) group. There are a few groups available from the start, but you can also add new groups.
Assigning groups
To assign a light to a group, follow these steps:
- Select one or more lights in the drawing view.
- In the Group drop-down menu, select a pre-existing group or choose Add new light group... to name your own.
- Lights from the 3D component tab will have the label for that group visible in the 2D view. Lights from the free Lights Extension (found in the Marketplace) will not show the label, but can still be added to groups.
- To see all lights in a selected group, go to Options and check Show light group members.
