Summary
Users have reported that they experienced print template corruption after exporting their report from Print Preview in Spec 8.0.1.1.
This can occur for users accessing Print Preview from the Template Editor.
Error Details
Templates will appear blank or show errors like below:
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to File > Print > Print Preview
- From the top menu, select Export
- Go through the Export prompts like normal
- Select Close Preview
- Select Yes when prompted to save changes to the template
- Observe corruption of template
Also can occur with the following steps:
- Navigate to File > Print > Template Editor
- From the top menu, select Preview
- Select Export
- Go through the Export prompts like normal
- Select Close Preview
- Observe corruption of template
Workaround
If you exported to PDF from the Print Preview screen, you can avoid corruption to the file by selecting No when prompted to save changes to the file:
If you opened Print Preview from the Template Editor, the steps are a little different.
You will be prompted to save after closing out of the Template Editor and you can avoid corrupting the template by selecting No on that prompt.
