Q. What is CET?
A. CET stands for Configura Extension Technology. With CET, you can accurately design and specify, create specials, render with photorealism, make movies, create virtual reality, and generate quotes and installation drawings. CET is used by design, sales, marketing, and customer service people.
Q. When do I start designing in CET?
A. After completing Beginner Training, you should feel equipped and ready to start drawing and specifying a project from beginning to end.
Q. Where can I find the release notes for the software updates?
A. Release notes are located here: CET Release Notes – Configura Help Center
Q. What do I do if a manufacturer is not on CET?
A. Start by checking the Commercial Interiors Library Extension, which includes data from over 250 manufacturers—even those without their own Extension. If the manufacturer you need is not listed, you can still import 3D objects from files such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, IFC, or STP.
Q. What is the process to start a Project in CET?
A. The process to work in CET is no different to what you typically need to start a project in AutoCAD. The only recommendation or extra step is to reduce dwg file size prior to importing as a background in CET.
Q. I am getting a pop-up in CET saying I am missing valid licenses, what do I do?
A. Reach out to our support team here: Contact Us – Configura Help Center, or click the link on the pop-up that says "Click for Help."
