Read more on LODs (Level of Details)
Configura only supports the automatic import of DWG files into MHL Libraries. If you supply drawings in another format, we cannot create your library. Secondly the DWG file that you provide MOST meet our quality standards. One single “Heavy” or poorly created DWG placed into a user drawing will have consequences for the life of that drawing.
DWG Guidelines
- Must be saved in DWG format.
- 3D drawing should be less than 7 mb per file. If you provided drawings are deemed to be too large, Configura will not be able to complete your library without modification.
- 3D Elements should not include, polyline regions, text, attributes, xref data, axis entities, ellipses, circles, lines, or arcs
- 3D Elements should be simplified removing unnecessary items such as screws, screw holes, bolts, nuts, etc. The outer visible shell is most often all that is needed.
- If snap points are required, please use the “POINT” command to add nodes/snapping points to symbols and MUST be placed on a Layer ending in “-P” IE “Conveyor-P"
Removing details like nuts and bolts will greatly reduce the size and help in over all
performance of your library.
