Welcome to the 17.0 Minor QA Testing Guide, please check with your developer to make sure 17.0 Minor Migration is successfully completed (if any) before testing.
Bug fixes and improvements🪲
As with any other releases, we're trying to improve by ruling out as much bugs as possible in order to maintain that awesome CET user experience. Hence, these relevant bugs and changes were handpicked for your information, divided into different CET component areas.

Fixed problem with custom keyboard shortcuts for manufacturer dimensions
Some manufacturers have its own dimensions where it allows an assignable key for shortcut. Developers fixed a problem where clicking on the assigned key will sometimes trigger the CET core's dimension and not the manufacturer dimension. Please follow *smoke test instructions below:
The colors will now randomize when a new tag is created in the new (On the right) vs old (On the left)
*What to look out for?
- Using your manufacturer dimensions, click on the assigned key to ensure the manufacturer dimension can always be placed new, and continuously at all times.
- Change to other assigned keys and ensure that the manufacturer dimension retains the same correct behavior.

Improved 3D mesh snapping
With the recent release of 3D mesh snapping faces in the May 17.0 release, this has been polished slightly where it can better find 'onCurve' features, which are commonly found in curvatures, or or bent edges. However, this change should not be be apparent and affect the existing usage of 3D mesh snapping, please follow *smoke test instructions below:
Ensure that more snapping is as accurate as before and does not introduce new irrelevant snapping faces
*What to look out for?
- Using your manufacturer extension, test snapping to and from with a 'Ruler' in 3D (if your manufacturer has any specific measuring tools, feel free) to the additional mesh faces, ensure it can snap and it is graphically accurate in terms of the bounds of the object. For example, a mesh point which is further than the chair's base or in the air, are incorrect, this may point to the modelling issue of the object.
- Verify that with the additional mesh faces created, it shall not introduce any performance issues during the snapping animation of the objects.

Inaccurate TAG1 - TAG5 information in Part Tags when performing SIF exports
Developers have fixed a problem with SIF export where TAG1-5 used to break when exported into SIF then imported into SPEC. This inconsistency has been fixed and has become more stable in retaining the values in the export and reflected correctly in SPEC. Follow *test instructions below to ensure that there are no regression defects introduced.
TAG1-5 in Part tagging dialog
*What to look out for?
- Load / Create a drawing with your manufacturer products. Perform an order export type of any types 'Configura SIF / Custom SIF' in the calculation dialog. Open the Settings dialog box and make sure Use manufacturer-specific export is off. (Custom SIF only). Ensure that performing SIF exports can be done successfully and should not crash.
- Load into Worksheet, Spec, or another pricing software and verify the information is correct as before.

Distinguishable color for newly created tags in the Part Tag Dialog
When creating a new tag, the colors for each tags will now randomize itself instead of defaulting to green. This improves workflow without needing to change colors as frequent if the user is fine with the randomized distinguishable colors for the tags. Please follow *smoke test instructions below:
The colors will now randomize when a new tag is created in the new (On the right) vs old (On the left)
*What to look out for?
- Using your manufacturer extension tags, create new part tags and ensure the randomized tag colors are distinguishable from the previous. It should not hinder the usage of tags and all methods of tagging should still work as usual, deleting one and re-adding will re-use the color that was just removed.
- Load old drawings and ensure the existing part tags still retain its color.
- Verify that the color is reflected accurately in 'Alternatives, Tag legends, Viewmodes, Viewclips, printouts'.
Overlapping auto tag list by quick properties box
Developers fixed a problem with the auto tagging list overlapping by the quick properties box by the object to be inserted, this happens when there is a long list of tags created within the tag category. With the fix, the long auto tagging list will now move to the front to show in full. Please follow *smoke test instructions below:
The auto part tagging list will now show in full (On the right) vs blocked (On the left).
*What to look out for?
Prerequisite: Ensure there is a long list of tags created for testing.
- Using your manufacturer extension tags, enable auto tagging and place new manufacturer objects. During the insert animation, ensure that the auto tagging list is always shown at the front of everything and is interactable (selecting and deselecting).
- Add new tags in the auto tagging preview bar and make sure the new tag's list has the same behavior and does not get blocked above.
New features🆕
We're continuously improving in each releases to provide more features that brings more value into CET. Here's what you need to know, divided into different CET component areas.

Diameter and Radius dimensions
In effort to improve measurement possibilities, diameter dimensions are now added to the radius dimension tool. This allows quick measuring circumference of a circular object and can now be switched to either radius or diameter when using radius dimension tool, depending on the requirements.
Measure animation here shows the switch between Radius and Diameter
There are no manufacturer specific testing instructions for this feature as it is well tested internally. However, feel free to try out this feature on your manufacturer products that has a circular shape.

Facelift of Part tag dialog
To ensure a uniform user experience across all components, the part tagging dialog has been facelifted for a refreshed look. Functionalities are all retained and no new features were introduced as part of the facelift. As part of workflow improvement, a new button of 'Remove individual' has been added, where individually tagged items can now be quickly removed.
The refreshed part tagging dialog
*What to look out for?
Prerequisite: Ensure there is a long list of tags created for testing if there is not any.
- Using your manufacturer extension tags, ensure the tags are reflected in the dialog and all methods of tagging (Rectangle, Custom, Individual, Selection) are still usable on your manufacturer products as before.
- All functionalities within the part tag dialog like adding/removing/sorting tags should have the same behavior as the old.
- Loading old drawings consisting part tags should still support the new part tagging dialog.
- Test Hide / Combine checkboxes and ensure it can properly exclude / combine pricing accurately in the Bill of Material.
Sketch & Build Related
Group Stretch Functionality
Users find it challenging to change the size of a construction built using sketch lines. Hence this feature is implemented for the ease of amending the length/position of multiple sketch lines at once.
Group Stretch feature stretches all extrusions at once
There are no manufacturer specific testing instructions for this feature as it is well tested internally. However, feel free to try out this feature on an exploratory basis.
