Introducing Aline's Full Release! 

Aline has officially moved out of early access and into full release. Early access provided a supported production version, but not the full feature set. With this release, Aline now delivers the complete functionality originally planned—and this is only the beginning. Ongoing improvements and new capabilities will continue to roll out as Aline evolves.

Released Features

Custom & Special Option Text

• Users can enter custom text options when configuring products in line items in a project. This functionality differs between manufacturers, and it may not be required
   
• The custom text can be added in several places: 
  • within the Details pop-up dialog on the Browse page, 
  • in the Configuration panel on the right side of the Specify page, or 
  • in the Overview panel on the right side of the Calculate page. 
     
• Additionally, the entered text option is displayed on the Present page within the Details card, ensuring consistency and visibility throughout the workflow.
   
• Not all manufacturers support this functionality.

SIF Import

• Aline now fully supports SIF round-tripping, without any data loss — you can import a SIF into Aline, work on it, and export it again without losing any data. 
   
• Products that match 100% are treated as catalog connected line items, while partial matches become custom line items with read-only options visible in the Specify and in the Calculate pages. 

Catalog Version Check

• User will be able to see if any catalog used in a project has a new version available. 
   
• Helps users determine whether to upgrade the catalog version for products in their line items or to keep the existing version.

Group Manufacturer Filtering

• Added functionality allowing to set a team-wide filter for manufacturers. 
   
• This enhancement streamlines product searches by limiting results to the selected manufacturers' catalogs.

Improvements

• Updated the tooltip for the ‘Custom’ icon in status columns to: “Custom line item, not connected to a catalog product” for improved clarity.
   
• Added sorting support for the ‘Status’ column, making all columns in the project list fully sortable for easier project management.

Fixes & Enhancements

Bug Fixes

• Fixed problem with comment safety by blocking the ability to inject HTML or harmful content, improving both security and reliability.
   
• Fixed problem where the error message for deleted projects was unclear—users now see a clear message indicating the project has been deleted.
   
• Fixed problem where users were logged out after long idle sessions or when waking the computer from sleep—Aline now reconnects reliably without needing a refresh.
   
• Fixed problem with the unread comment count not updating correctly after viewing ‘Published presentation’ comments.
   
• Fixed problem where switching display modes redirected users to the latest version of a published presentation instead of staying on the selected older version.
   
• Fixed problem where switching from ‘Description’ to ‘Cards’ or ‘Grid’ view in an older presentation version reloaded the latest version instead of keeping the selected one.
   
• Fixed problem where switching views in an older presentation version reloaded the latest version. Aline now consistently preserves your selected version for a stable review experience.
   
• Fixed problem in the ‘Calculate’ view where opening the action menu on a line item caused unintended view shifts or selections.
