Select the mezzanine to make adjustments within the quick properties
After the mezzanine has been placed, you may double click on in. This will open a different set of quick properties that will allow you to modify the shape of the mezzanine. These tools allow you add points, remove points, alter line types, move lines, and drag points.
You can also add cutouts to your mezzanines by left clicking on the Add freestanding mezzanine tool, then selecting "Cutout" in the quick properties. Next, place the cutout within the existing mezzanine in the same way you would place a new mezzanine.
After a mezzanine is placed, you may use the Generate structure tool to automatically generate supports. Select the mezzanine you want to add supports to, then select Auto add structure to selection.
After adding supports to the mezzanine, you can select the beams and columns individually for precise adjustments and deletion. The columns, primary beams, and secondary beams are also categorized independently.
You can adjust the material of the mezzanine decking, structures, accessories, and kickplates by using the Essential Mezzanine Scheme. Click on the multicolor circle to open the Scheme dialog.
Click on the material dropdown then select a material. Use the Apply to: tools to apply selected material to a target, a selection, or all of those components in the drawing.
Adding Racking Catwalks
To add mezzanines to existing racking systems within your drawing, use the Racking Catwalk tools. The first tool is Inner which will allow you to add a mezzanine to an aisle area within your racking system. Select the Inner tool then hover over an aisle within the racking system you'd like to add the mezzanine to. You will see the aisle areas turn green. By using the Insert On Racking Levels options for the Insert Mode property, you will have several more options available within the quick properties. By pressing TAB to get down to Elevation in the quick properties, you may then tap SPACEBAR to toggle between all of the existing beam levels to select where the mezzanine should be placed.
You can add Outer mezzanines in the same way, select Outer, then hover over the racking system you'd like to add the catwalk to. If you have existing catwalks, you can use the Insert on existing floors option to add catwalks at the same elevation as the inner catwalks, or you may choose any of the other Insert modes based on your needs.
Stairs can be added to catwalks on storage systems by using the Insert stairs on mezzanine button.
Adding Accessories
You may also add accessories to your mezzanines after they are placed by using tools in the Accessories section. Rails may be added manually by selecting the Default rail tool and left clicking on a point on your mezzanine, or you may also use the Auto add rail to selection tool.
Railings can be selected after they are placed to adjust the properties, including adding kickplates, by checking the Enable box in the Quick Properties.
Gates may be added to railings on mezzanines by using the tools in the Gate section. A tool with a small black triangle at the bottom right indicates this is a nested tool group and more tools are available by right-clicking on that tool.
