Performance improvement and BSP related change
- Insert snapper.
- Try change any properties that affects the size of the snapper.
- Try stretch animations.
Expected: Make sure the snapper is both selectable and that the bounding box (orange box) is correct size between each step. Check in both 2D and 3D views.
Test Instruction: Create a drawing that consists of different valid worksurface configurations. Make sure everything works as intended. Pay attention to instant 2D and 3D updates after editing the properties or after stretching the symbols.
- Worksurface Snapping
Test Instruction: Create a workstation that consists of worksurfaces and panels. Test that you can snap and un-snap a worksurface to the panels. The worksurface's width should follow the panel's width automatically.
- Product Dependency / Lonely Remove
Test Instruction: Create a user drawing, then try to remove a few symbols. Everything should work as intended. For example: Panels and Electricals, ensure if you remove the panels, the electrical symbols are removed as well.
- Rotational Snapper – Focus on Chairs
Test Instruction: Test animation properties of rotational snappers for example chair. Test the property box by adjusting the chair rotation and distance from table before snap to worksurfaces. Test with copy paste and ensure the copied chairs has the same rotation. Make sure the chairs will get automatically populated when insert multiple option is checked.
- Side Trimmings
a. Ensure the graphics are generated correctly. Test by stretching, rotating, copying and editing the symbols.
b. In a panel – Check the side trims and top trims (2D and 3D view)
c. In a wall – Check the side trims and top trims (2D and 3D view)
Test Instruction: Make sure the cutouts are showing correctly in both 2D and 3D view. Ensure when you make changes to the cutouts, it is updated correctly in both 2D and 3D view.
Test Instruction: Test stretching different symbols together after snapping them to each other. Make sure super stretch works as intended too if it’s available in your extension.
Test Instruction: Test changing the properties during animation or after placing the symbol in the drawing area. Make sure everything works as intended. Test by using keyboard shortcuts “Tab”, “Space bar” and arrow keys to change the options. Look for any property box resize issue and make sure it is shown in the correct location.
We suggest partners to re-save the gm-files in 10.0 to resolve the performance issue with opening a gm-file.
Test Instruction: Make sure the materials, finishes or textures can be applied as before and it should look correct in renderings. Ensure it loads faster in Scheme Manager and Material Explorer.
Simple graphics engine removed
- Icon rendering. It should use the advanced graphics engine instead of the simple graphics engine for rendering.
Test Instruction: Check that the icons look fine (Size, Colour and Orientation).
- Hidden line rendering is removed. The option in the Control Panel for generating isometric views with the simple engine has now been removed as that engine is completely discontinued.
Test Instruction: Ensure creating elevation view with your extensions is working properly. If your extension has customized elevation option in print reports setting, please make sure it looks correct in pdf report too.
Changed Treeview Item – Selected Text Color
Test Instruction: Make sure the text styles shown in any tree view is correct or follow your requirements.
Bug fixes and new changes added in CET Designer 10.0 (Core)
- New changes in G2 insert and drag animations
Test Instruction: Ensure the trySnap animation behaves accordingly by hovering over a snappable symbol to a corresponding snappable symbol / location without actually placing the symbol. Make sure the size is updated automatically to match the corresponding snappable symbol / location when you attempt to trySnap. Make sure that the size reverts back to the default size once you are no longer trying to trySnap.
- Bug fix for Project Info
Test Instruction: Make sure the project variable's tree structure is correct for your extensions. Place a data field and in the “Select a field variable” window, make sure the project variables are showing up correctly for your extensions.

QA tips & new features in CET Designer 10.0
- We have redesigned the look of the 2D and 3D toolbars as a step towards modernizing the interface of CET Designer.
QA Tip: Toggle this button when you run the testing to test the single select and group select behavior with your extensions.
A new option, called "Follow 2D View" has been added to the 3D toolbar. Enabling this feature will make the 3D View pan and zoom in accordance to the panning or zooming done in the 2D View.
QA Tip: Enable this feature when running the testing so that the 3D view is always following your 2D view. This can help you to detect if there is any refresh issue.
The tool "Select object from a list of all beneath the cursor" has been added to the 3D toolbar and now works in the 3D View just as for the 2D View.
QA Tip: Hover your mouse over the multiple overlapping objects, Ctrl + Right click to see the list of available objects, then choose the intended object to be selected. You may also start the tool from the 2D and 3D toolbar.
